We all know that dogs are humans’ best friends. A dog is a very nice and convenient companion as you can train and teach it various tricks and commands. Each breed is different and this is the most important thing which actually separates dogs. Some are good for hunting, while others are great guards. At the same time, others just like being around humans without doing anything special.

Loving Dog Breeds

As an example, the German Shepherd is a great police dog. This dog is unique as it proves sharpness, courage, loyalty, boldness and highly trainable skills. All these characteristics make the dog the best partner for police officers. They know to respect and protect humans. On the other side, Shih Tzu has a very happy, sweet, gentle and playful character. It is a great company for adults and children alike but it will never defend you. Most of the times, it is the other way around.

Sometimes, having dogs can be overwhelming. This is mostly because we have to understand their behavior so that we can train them. We have to keep training them and repeat the same commands even when they know and execute them perfectly. And this is mostly because dogs tend to forget things they do not practice. Additionally, in case that you have children, picking up the right dog breed is crucial.

Dogs also present different sizes and the best ones for children are the small to medium sized dogs. However, even if you pick a big breed, make sure that it not a danger to your children. The best ones are so called family dogs, as they are very loving and friendly. As well, it seems that these dogs are meant to be around children because they have patience and are not violent. The following lines mention some of these exceptional, caring and loving dog breeds.

Labrador and Golden Retrievers are fun loving, good natured and great sporty dogs. They love outdoors activities such as running and swimming are. For this, you have to be able to keep up them or you will be left behind. They are great with children, calm and kind resisting to touching and poking.

Another great breed is Collie. They are highly trainable, smart, gentle and definitely beautiful dogs. They do not only play with children but also watch and protect them. For sure, this is one of the best family dog breeds.

Boxers are great dogs too. Even though they seem very serious, they are actually just lazy. They are great companions especially for big kids, being affectionate and athletic. However, in some situations they can become aggressive and for this reason are not appropriate for families with small children.

Some other good family dog breeds are Beagle, Yorkshire Terriers and Miniature Schnauzers. Having any of these dogs definitely means a great responsibility. Prior even to selecting a certain breed, make sure that you and your family are ready to educate and care for it, as for any member of your family.

Mostly, like with people, it depends on the dog and how it was raised.

In any case, I don’t think anyone can mention friendly dog breeds without mentioning the Leonberger: their sterling temprament, love for children, ease with strangers and strange situations represent the defining characteristic of their breed. Day in, day out, there is no nicer giant than the Leonberger.
